Are You Motivated?

In last night’s CEO Connect Call, I talked about the difference between inspiration and motivation. As we start out 2012, I want to encourage you to take a minute and decide how you will plan to spend the year — will you be inspired by the things around you but never act, or will you chose to be motivated to use action and make something beautiful and inspiring with your life?

One of the things that I know that I know is that inspiration is all around us, every minute of every day. I am blessed in my life to have a family, friends, and career that have opened by eyes to so many inspiring people and places. Motivation, however, is a different thing. You can’t learn how to be motivated, and people cannot motivate you to make something happen. Motivation to work towards you goals is something that comes from within; you have to be a motivated person and want something badly enough that you are willing to set words into action. Others may inspire you, but this inspiration will only play out positively if you have the motivation to act upon it.

People tell me all of the time that I am motivating. One thing that I want to be clear is that I am not a motivator … I am motivated! I strive on a daily basis to be a motivated person whose actions are inspiring to those around me. At Making Life Beautiful last November in I encouraged everyone to be inspired by who they are, not only because each person is special, but because when you are motivated to act in a positive way, your actions and works can be an incredible inspiration to those around you. There is absolutely no end to what can be accomplished when a spark of inspiration helps someone decide to be motivated.

So, my question for you to ponder and then live and breath every day is, “Are you Motivated?” Apriori Beauty is setting itself apart because we have gathered a group of motivated Consultants and Clients who create inspiration through their daily actions. I cannot wait to see what we all accomplish together during 2012 … it is going to be another beautiful year!
